• Even though it's small it's still a finish!!!

Well I have given my bears a little rest for now, I am about 1/4 of the way through, but after all that brown I decided I needed abit of colour.  I decided to go for a little project to split the time and a Country Companions kit seemed perfect as I adore them.  Below is the result, it's called "Surprise Surprise" but I love the purple breaking up the little mouse, and as it's an earlier kit there was nothing fiddely or complicated about it.

I think this has spurred me on abit as I hadn't had a finish for a while.

I have now had to move on to the piccie I want to do for my parents.  It is their 40th Wedding Anniversary next year and I have picked something for them...and it's on evenweave .  Will let u know how I get on with this great challenge.

  • Finally decided to post again

    Bears WIP

Well I have finally got to the post of putting up another post.  I haven't been going mad on my stitching due to various reasons and even now progress hasn't been very fast.  The attached picture is my progress on my Bear picture by DMC, I also am planning to do some other bits and pieces before the end of the year, so I am hoping I can get back on track with my stitching, otherwise my stash pile will never get any lower!!!!

Think that's all for now, take a look at the piccie and hopefully there will be another one soon.

  • Yep here I am again!

I think this must be a record for me putting in 3 blog postings in one week!  I finally managed to take a piccie of my LK chart and sort of a picture of my smaller project, (I'm sorry it's alittle blurry).  I was hoping to be showing u more of my flying teddies but after spending this morning with a frog I have a section that now isn't there.

Anyway have a look and all comments as always forever welcome.

  • My newest buy

Well I had a nice little package drop through my door to find my order from Sew and So was inside.  I now have a beautiful kit from the DMC Sarah Kay range called "First Kiss" (photo below) and a LK snippet chart that's called Plumpkin.  I tried to take a piccie of my snippet but failed miserably, think it was too shiny.

I think I will enjoy doing first kiss and was also thinking it might be another good project to extend my evenweave experience.

  • Progress Report and extra news

Well I haven't done loads of stitching in the last couple of weeks, I've had other stuff going on and the concentration span of a gnat!  I managed to do some more this week on both my Bears and Flying Teddy projects.  I am really happy with how the bears project is going even though there is still loads of swapping colours, but I'm getting there and have made the chart space I am looking at smaller to help me keep my place.
I also ended up ordering a kit and chart from Sew and So, will post pictures when they get here, which will probably be tomorrow, the Sarah Kay kit reminds me of when I was a child as we had that on my bedroom wall paper and on a rug we had in there as well.  I ordered a pumpkin chart cause I thought it was cool.
In other news we have learned this week that DMC are going to stop doing the Country Companions and All Our Yesturday's kits.  I am very saddened by this as I'm a massive fan of CC and am now in a dilema as to whether I should try and get hold of any more kits I want before they vanish out of print for good.  I suppose this is a sign of the times but it's still sad and I hope something gets sorted out.  I wonder if Faye Whittaker will go it alone Iike Micheal Powell has done to great sucess, but I suppose we will have to wait and see.

I was really happy this week to get my partner for an exchange I am doing on one group, so will have to have a look about for suitable things I can send.  Will post piccies once the exchange has finished.

Below is a piccie of my bears if u would like to take a look.

  • Progress Report

Well I have had a good first week on Bears, it's the first BAP I will have done in over a year and I feel it's going better than I had hoped.  The only thing that does annoy me is that there is alot of swapping colours so I'm trying to do as much as I can before swapping threads.  I have included a WIP piccie as you can tell the nose and eyes of each bear, and also a picture of what it will look like when finished.

I also think I might do my smaller project one night a week as a rest from the big one, and also because I'm going out and doing the project on my travels.  If I can get it done it means I can frame both Teddy Witch pieces together and finally get them up on the wall.

    Happy stitching to all

  • Finally made a start on new project!!

I have finally made a decision of what project to start, having copied 4 or 5 big charts I decided to pick a DMC kit which shows the heads of 2 grizzly bears.  I choose this chart because it's the large project I wanted to do with a good range of colours, it was a pressie of a friend so I thought it was time it came out of the stash pile and most importantly, it may be big but it's all cross stitch and no backstitch!   So off I go and I'll post a piccie soon when you can "Tell what it is yet!"

  • My First Finish of 2009!!

    Hello everyone

Well I have my first finish of the new year.  It's a Country Companions design called "Wishing on a star" which I did as part of a SAL in the Country Companions group I am a member of.  I have to admit that I did change some of the backstitching in the end, I prefer the jumper in plain red rather than backstitching the white stars on it I do think it looks better, but let me know what you think?

I now have the joy of picking my next project, it's going to be a BAP but I've copied charts for 4 or 5 so I just have to decide which on I fancy.  Will put up a post when I have decided and made a start.

    Happy stitching

    Wishing on a Star

  • Update and presents!!

Well firstly I apologuise as this will probably be a long entry, but due to various reasons I have not been able to post.

So where to start, well my current Wip is Wishing on a Star which is a Country Companions kit I am doing as part of a SAL with the group I am a member of.  I am a good 2/3 of the way there and chances are I can finish the project off this week while I'm still at home.  Then I'm moving onto a Likkle Ted design for a lady I work with.

I am still doing my Flying Teddy project but haven't done alot so I will post a piccie when I've done abit more.

As for pressies well Santa bought stitching things in abundence, my best friend bought me the fantastic Scarlet Wizard kit by Dimentions so that's a great BAP for me.  I also got Leonardo by dimentions off my mum and dad, that was a request by me so I was very happy to see it in my pile.

The surprise of the morning was getting a selection of Waxing Moon charts from my big sister, I had sent her a mini wish list so didn't have a clue what I would be unwrapping and I am very pleased with what was there, will bring great enjoyment to put those in the stash.

Well that's about all for now sorry for the length but it's trying to fit everything in, I have put pictures of everything below so feel free to take a look.

    Happy stitching all

  • Update for the weekend.

Well I have finally reached the half way point in my Dahlia and now on the second page of pattern.  I am doing the bottom of the flowers and then more of the half stitch background to finish off this design.  I will post a picture this week while I'm off work.

I am doing pretty well with my travel project my bear know has a cloak and I'm going to start putting the green stars on it this week, will see how long that takes me but it's going well, I will also try and put a piccie up this week.

My Winnie the Pooh kit arrived and it shouldn't take too long to do and then I can mount it in a flexi hoop for my friends daughter.

So there is lots to do this week while I'm off, a chance to declutter and get some quality stitching time in as well, I can't wait :-)

    happy stitching to all
